An early morning surprise

Over the weekend I took my parents up on an offer to drive down to the family ranch in May, Texas. Only catch being that I had to be up and ready to go at 6:30am in order to drive west with them. Come 9:30 am (and lots of donut holes, pigs-n-blankets, coffee and orange juices later) we arrived.... but not in May at my fathers ranch, like I counted on. Instead, we arrived at my Nana and Papa's house. A somewhat impromptu (unannounced) visit.
Oh boy was I a happy grandchild to see the sweetest faces that side of Brownwood, Texas! I didn't even realize we were headed that way until I noticed (from the cramped back seat of my dad's truck) we were driving up their street!!! From that moment on my day was a bit brighter!!!
Somehow the mornings are much more beautiful at my Nana and Papa's place.I don't know what it is exactly. Maybe it's the company and the childhood memories that make it such a wonderful place!!
We stayed for a bit to visit as much as we could. Once our good-bye's were said, we loaded up and headed to my Dad's ranch! Our horses quickly greeted us at the gate with hungry bellies!!!

I helped feed the horses carrots, rode around a little and enjoyed the beautiful summer breeze in my hair!
As always I didn't want to leave and promised our horses to come back soon!
I must say, that nothing will ever replace my desire to visit May, Texas!!! My Dad has promised to leave it to me so that in the future it will be a place filled with the sweetest memories! A place which I can visit as much as I wish!!!
